Hey all. I have another CECHK01 model, with about 11 days of uptime when it came to me! After replacing the thermal paste, it acted like GLOD. After a few more attempts, it beeped three times and shut down. If I wait a while, it comes back on and is like GLOD. When I have this system hooked up...
Hey guys. I assume from the lack of replies that I can't use the 330uf caps on my fat model.
I've been looking at these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/404946277873?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=7ypihbjvrxs&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=nfRxWPQ1SiS&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Hi all, I have a CECK with 423 days of uptime showing signs of NEC/TOKINs going bad. Randomly shuts down, throws 1002 codes, so I think I'm going to start by replacing one of the RSX tokins.
Now, I have 330uf caps from when I replaced a NEC/TOKIN on a 2001A slim. Can I use these for my K...
Hey, anyone still looking into this, I just caught this post on reddit:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Ps3TechHelp/comments/1cpo2jo/does_anyone_know_what_this_is_for/
Looks like a bypass for updating with a bad bluetooth/wifi module right? And it's on a superslim with 28nm
With the above post ^ does...
Here's the only photo I have of the delid as of now. I had to reduce the quality of the pic to upload it here so hopefully it doesn't look too bad.
EDIT: Pressure test not successful. Board looks very clean. Please somebody give me some hope on this thing. If better pictures are needed then let...
Hey guys. I got a very clean CECH-2001A slim yesterday. Ran great, everything worked. About 130d run time. I tore it down, and delidded both chips, repasted everything and put it all back together. Now it doesn't start and I get the following in the error log:
Press Ctrl+C to exit
>$ errlog...
OP and I have been talking about this recently. I have a CECHL01 that is very healthy, and it shut down after updating it to CFW 4.91 (the updated one) with 1601 and 1701 codes in the error logs. This unit is my only fat model, my other PS3s are all slims or super slims. I haven't experienced...
I was just reading a little more about this (I just can't give it up):
https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PS3MFW_Builder#broken_bluetooth_task
Is this basically how the nobd CFW works?
That's exactly what I mean...if this happens to a CFWable system, then it's almost a non-issue. But since we have super slims, it's essentially a brick unless we have reballing equipment
Understood. Man it just drives me crazy that we can't somehow make a modified update that skips the checks. This 4301 I just got is practically brand new, and it's not easy to attach a new wifi/bt module. It basically needs its own reflow. Just because of this module, this system is basically...
Hey everyone. Is there any kind of success with this problem? I have a CECH-4301C (basically BRAND NEW) with a suspected bad bluetooth/wifi module. It's stuck in an update loop and crashing with error 8002F1F9. I really want to save this system if possible. If there is a way to bypass the...
It really isn't that deep. But I checked the six other slim motherboards I have on hand right now, and none of them are knicked in that particular spot. So that could be something. Still doesn't make sense... since I delidded after the issue started.
Honestly, whatever the issue is, it's...
I see what you mean. It isn't my best work doing a delid. But I swear I didn't delid until after I found out it was a CPU issue. The system ran great for about a week. I installed new CFW on it, ran for a few minutes, then 5FFF. Once I found out what 5FFF was from you, I delidded (which I now...
