After successfully booting on 4.89.3, i managed to reinstall 10 times with a different ssd and a final reinstall with the "old" ssd (the samsung) it now boots every time and the dumps give all "ok" with PyPs3Checker.... oh my gosh. I think i'll take apart, check the psu and repaste anyway :O...

What firmware do you have installed? When did this began? I am having almost this issue. Intermitently i have black screen on boot, recovery does not work. But randomly it will boot normally and even play games.... Opened thread here...

Having problems here. 3.55OFW: Cannot install 4.89.3 CEX directly, i have to install 4.82 rebug first. (slim cech2504). Also, i have intermittent black screen on boot but not sure if it is related to 4.89.3 or my ps3 has something wrong.

Then i don't know what is going on. I am having again black screen (4.89.3 evilnat) and system boots 1 out of n times. Also happens with recovery. Managed to play some games with no issues tho. I don't know what else to do... besides hardware flashing.

Well i don't think is a compatibility issue... been using this ssd for a couple of years (samsung 850 evo 512GB). But also i don't have another 2.5" drive... :S Could it have something to do with the HDMI IC? Is there any way to check the NOR?

Yep i am trying the Cex one (after reading the readme just "copied" the rebug instructions hehe). I checked the SSD health using Samsung magician and it is at 95%. Just experienced a black screen on boot on 3.55 OFW....damn.

I have a bootloop to. Downgraded to 3.55OFW, but can't seem to install 4.89.3. I only get black screens and recovery does not work. After N number of tries, i happens to get into recovery and can install 3.55 ofw successfully. But the number of tries is completely random.
