What is the best version of custom firmware? Thanks

Hi, I am a noob.. haha Anyway.. I installed Kmeaws custom firmware 3.55 many many many years ago. I want my son to enjoy the PS3 that I have not touched in years, and I want to upgrade it to the newest Custom Firmware Version. Not sure how to do that with this custom firmware already on it...
