    PS2 Can a Ps2 Fat model work without the disc drive inside?

    Model: SCPH-39004 Motherboard: GH-022 Since I already own a PS2 slim that I use to play DVD games, I just got this PS2 Fat to install a HDD in it. So, can I just disconnect and remove the whole disc drive from the console? Will everything still work fine?
