I have decided to share the gerber file and the parts required. Do keep in mind that you cannot order these from JLCPCB , because they don't build such small pcbs. The only way to manufacture these is through PCBway, and they will complain about it being small as well. You will have to agree to...
Thanks everyone for the interest and orders. There wasn't a lot, so I decided to stop making these. I still have the pcbs and parts if anyone needs them, you can contact me here. I don't think I will want to preassemble them myself though.
I got some preorders but assembly costs were still too high, so I have decided to solder these by hand for now. If there is more demand in the future I probably have to think about paying for assembly. These are not easy to solder by the way.
Also note to US residents, your tariffs nonsense...
Hi,
I have developed a new mod to modify the voltages. This is mostly for the people who build a lot of frankies. Although I am sure most of them already have all they need. But just in case anybody wants these, you can pre-order here - https://ko-fi.com/s/8aa7b823f8
*I am sorry for mixing up...
It is possible that sony upgrades the BD drive firmware or syscon flags for those drives differently. There is sadly no leaked tools for BD drive calibration or anything else. The BD firmware is also encrypted and seems nobody has keys.
I also want to add that laser swap may not always work even if it is the same laser. There seems to be other factors related to calibration data as well. It is not well documented however.
Hello,
My friend recently got into ps3 repairs and decided to develop a proper GUI for the syscon python script we've all been using. It provides proper interface for error codes reading, RSX patching and makes it easier to enter commands. There are many other options, you can check the full...
Makes sense, I have never encountered a nops2 console that booted games after warming up, but I havent worked on enough of them anyways. For me it was always either black screen no matter what or it booted games with artifacts.
@RIP-Felix where are you
It would have never occurred to me to heat the back of the EE/GS and see if the game boots. I mean it's good if you found out that way, but to make it more scientific we need some measurements and proof of the voltage "instability". If it is letting too much ripple through or not giving enough...
Good findings, it can be added to the list of potential causes.
But where are you getting these statistics ? There have been people for whom it has worked well.
