Why should gen3psio and make3iso be avoided? Is it because the files won't be in the right places on the Disc? Will this harm the laser?

I should have said DVD+R media. Must be low quality media like DeVil303 said. Laser works fine with PS3 Game Discs.

Why does the game stutter is it the disc? But it definitely works with burnt media

Where is this stage2.bin in /dev_blind/sys on the hard drive or is it the cfw? I couldn't find /dev_blind/sys. I'm a newb to all this. Hopefully it will be in the next firmware update. But it looks a new cfw will not be out. Looks like sony didn't come out with new firmware after 4.81.
