i already have a slim, i got this console for free and wanted to try to get it working. maybe i will just reflow and see what happens, or hold it until i can afford a bga setup because like you said non backwards compatible is easily replaced. thank you for your help

nvm figured it out, here are my 32 last errors from what i can see, rsx needs a reball. I don't have the money to build a reball station right now, but I do have a 858d hot air station, is it worth putting some flux and trying to reflow the rsx?

ok I got my ftdi usb adapter, but i dont have a diag pin i only have txd, rxd, dtr, cts and gnd. is dtr diag? also does SC_tx go to rx on my ftdi or tx to tx rx to rx

So I have a fat ps3 CECHH 01 console with ylod. I just read the first page and bought 20 tantalum caps for it and replaced all the ones on the back and one of the tokins on the front for the rsx, before learning about syscon and about tokin not being the best solution. Is it worth me committing...
