The connection should be stable as you are not hammering your router with packets. Maybe Monitor mode is not required its been very long ago i capture wireless packets "wiki_wireshark_org/CaptureSetup/WLAN" maybe "Promiscuous mode" is enough.
Npcap loopback would only capture data from the wifi...
If you want to capture the wireless signal, make sure that you can put your wireless network interface into Monitor mode.if your Windows driver does not allow it and you have some linux knowledge you could use Kali Linux (formerly called backtrack) it comes with all required tools to sniff...
I already wrote in the packet capture thread about other ways to capture traffic then arp spoofing (which likely causes the lag). The cheapest method would be to plug a second network interface card into your computer and bridge the connection and use wireshark on the second nic to capture...
Another solution could be by using a Hub with uplink (make sure there is no switch module present in the device)
or with port mirroring (if your router/switch Firmware supports this feature dd-wrt does with iptables)
