    Thank you for the quick replies. I should also add when I turn on the PS3 it starts normally for about 10-15 seconds (doesn't quite get to the xmb). After the 15 seconds, the fan spins up to jet engine level and the console shuts off. I guess, I have never heard or seen a system overheat that...
