No problem. don't have a hardware flasher, so this PS3 may become a donor (shame as never had YLOD). The other thing would be for 4.86.1 HFW to some how incorporate the RSOD fix (maybe 4.86.2). A big ask I know - I doubt there would be room to fit it in and still spoof OFW.

I've tried that - to quote from the post: 'What's your current installed FW? if you're on OFW, it won't work out of the box unless you use BGtoolset'. My PS3 is red screening before dashboard.

Thanks for the links. It is my understanding (please correct me if i'm wrong), that I need to be on CFW (not H or O fw) in order to launch Lv2diag.self fix. Which in my case i'm not, so the only other option is replacement for another NOR chip?

I was hoping someone could help me out...... I've got an 80Gb phat that has RSOD. I went into recovery mode and it asked for 4.81 fw or higher. I upgraded to 4.86 fw and still RSOD. I have just tried 4.86.1 HFW via recovery and the process completed OK. However, it still has RSOD. I have now...
