PS3 Frankenstein PHAT PS3: CECHA with 40nm RSX

Interesting. Are you actually nudging the BGA during reflow, or just letting it sit and fully reflow on its own? My two cents: I only pull RSXs from known-working Slims. I try to avoid random loose chips where you have no idea what profile was used, how many times it was heated, or what damage...

    PS3 PS3 GLOD (SUR-001)

One thing to keep in mind though: if this is GLOD/no video The console may be reaching the point where it would normally display the "correct storage was not found" or storage rebuild/update message, but if the video output path is dead, you would never see that message anyway. That does not...

Undocumented SYSCON error due to faulty HDMI chip?

COK-002 / E01 / Bxx board behavior with RSX removed: SSM signature: [SSM] state: 0103 -> 0303 [SSM] PowSeq Fail : Detected ! [SSM] state: 0303 -> 0700 Note: On COK-002, this can be normal missing-RSX behavior. Do not automatically diagnose board-side VRM failure from this alone. 0xA0201B02 I...

Hello newcomer to the ps3 modding scene, needing help with syscon diagnostic

Flux was a good move, but the big thing to understand is this: Without a real preheater, board support/jig, controlled thermal profile, and actually taking the solder into a true liquid state, you're not really doing a proper BGA reflow. You're mostly heat-cycling the board and maybe...
