This was more so supposed to be just a general overview of the CEX,DEX,PEX,D-PEX... I couldn't find a dedicated thread that clearly showed the difference, which for someone just wanting to know which version to get for their PS3 could find easily without having to read many thread pages.
I was having some issues at first understanding various types of firmware, so I asked Gemini to gather sources and put it all in one place hoping someone else may find it useful.
History of DEX in the PS3 Scene
Initially, DEX firmware was exclusively available on developer consoles or "dev...
Link was updated Had to make a change as .config was not updating properly after review. I got rid of the dialog box and use zenity for initial setup. Should work now. Notice full module name is needed including .ko In my case UFS is not needed as it is built into kernel.
The above link in the...
I finally have a working version of my Drive Tool meant to compliment @Berion scripts. And is another option for mounting & unmounting.
This tool is for Fat-NAND units without otherOS but could be modified for all. It will create a .config file in the directory it is placed in. It will also load...
I tried that method originally with no success though the touch command said write support was on when I actually tried to write files to the drive it failed saying read-only. The only way for me to get it to work was have it built in which does make it work for sure in my case. All is working...
I will check them. I think now that UFS is built-in and I'm using mounter 1.6c version loading bswap16, will work for me with read/write permission. The folder for hdd0 opening first to home folder after mounting and going back manually is just minor inconvenience which only happens after UFS is...
@gmipf I am fairly new to Linux only having used it for a few months now. I did manage to compile a custom kernel and have been doing some testing on mint 21.1 with kernel version 6.2 stable, and have noticed I had to build the UFS module into the Kernel before it would work properly(it would...
I tried, I deleted everything and the issues was something to do with CFW itself. When I went to COBRA settings under Cobra information, it said "Syscalls 8 disabled or partially disabled" even though check syscall 8 returned enabled notifcation....Create Syscalls did not work either, the one...
@aldostools I'm having an issue on the latest Evilnat PEX CFW ...I had to boot into safe mode and then had some power outage and now webman is gone and can't reinstall. Everything else seems to work and this is all I see for webman. What to do? This folder is empty and can't delete it.
Thanks again for this tip... I was able to add extra info change the font size it seems the screen does not cut off on the right side so for in game I move the information to the top right and for xmb I move it to the bottom right. This seems to serve the same purpose as WM monitor.
Thanks for that edit tip. I'm using the full installation of WM
This Edge issue is likely from the TV this model is here... There is a firmware update from 2008 maybe I will try that.

This TV only has an automatic mode or widescreen. This was one of the first HDTVs in fact it says HD ready on it it's only 1080i. I'm not sure if it has an overscan option probably not. It does have an automatic option but then it randomly resizes the picture in game menus I guess from a box...
