Well he said VSH and index.dat and version.txt work so probably he meant vsh.self since both index.dat and version.txt are related to vsh.self Well he is releasing a VSH replacer soon because i guess it needs additional patches in memory to work

@esc0rtd3w stated that the leaked 4.82 DEX VSH works on 4.82 ofw but he will release when rebug release their DREX so we just have to wait wonderful things are coming to the ps3 scene who ever thought that one day you could swap your VSH with a dex VSH on superslim

Well how do they patch VSH to make the custom act.dat and rif work doesnt it need to be reencrypted?

Cant we patch VSH so that it does the same as dex VSH since we cannot run dex VSH without forcing recovery

I dont think it will work because after thinking again i figured out that appldr is responsible for choosing which is the applicable PUP so unless we can change 4.82 appldr with a lower one it wont work (i dont think appldr is replaceable but it is patchable)

What if we replace all of SELFs (exepct for vsh.self because it will force recovery) and SPRXs and RCOs files in our 4.82 consoles with 4.50 ones and then try to install 4.50 PUP in recovery won't we be able to downgrade to 4.50 (ofcorse the console minver should be 4.50 or lower for it to work...

@esc0rtd3w a dumb question do we obtain the DEX SPRX files from dumping it from a DEX console or from simply extracting the DEX firmware with PUP extractor?

The SPRX replacer would be a very nice release especially for curious testers (me included) o_O
