    PS3 (Research/Experimental) - NEC/TOKIN Capacitors Replacement - YLOD

This is really big news. Thank you for your efforts to bring this issue to light. Does this apply to the "different kinds" of YLOD? Like for the instant YLOD and the "slow" one?

    PS3 Different kinds of YLODs

Having the ERK dumped was the way I could unbrick this PS3, lol. Alright, I'll try to find a heatgun to do the heatgun method with. Thanks for the help!

    PS3 Different kinds of YLODs

Oh, my bad. I forgot to mention that I did open up the console, and nothing seemed bad whatsoever.

    PS3 Different kinds of YLODs

Hi! I'm back with another support question, lol. This time around I'm wondering what we know about YLODs, other than the stuff on psdevwiki. I recently got a YLOD on my CECHC that was seemingly random, seeing as though the temperatures were good and the fact that it came with 2.42 when I got...

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Ah, sorry about that. I was actually planning to make a wiki tutorial on the /r/ps3homebrew subreddit about my findings either way.

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Hi! Doing another reinstall worked! I could successfully decrypt my HDD using your tools. On top of that, the dev_hdd1 "trick" worked! I was able to throw my PS3 out of the update loop brick by putting a noBD firmware there instead of the regular BD one it was trying to install. Everything...

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Hello. I am currently on the full desktop version of Mint 18.2 Cinnamon and I'm still getting the decryption error. I've followed your guide as well as read your original thread a lot of times and I'm still getting the same error. I am getting the exact same gibberish bytes as I was getting when...

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

    Hi. I'm doing: cryptsetup create -c aes-cbc-null -d /home/ps3/hdd_key.bin -s 192 ps3hdd /dev/sdb I'll have access to a Linux box very soon to continue my testing.

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Hi. I used your script with the correct options, it being NAND. You're correct in that it didn't decrypt successfully, since your command returned gibberish bytes. nbd-client hasn't given me any information. I am using Linux Mint 18.2 live which you say apparently cannot be used. I'll try to...

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Hi, so I've spent an hour on Linux with no apparent success. I've followed your guide as well as the psdevwiki guide with no success. I cannot mount the only partition that is visible in /dev/mapper/ps3hdd, which is dm-0. I'm not sure if I'm doing anything wrong or if it's my setup. Thank you so...

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

That is absolutely splendid news! I will set up a simple Linux environment tomorrow to throw my PS3 out of hell. Thank you so much! :D

PS3 [Tutorial] HDD mounting and decryption on Linux

Here is a screenshot of the contents of dev_hdd1/PS3UPDATE, the only directory on that partition. The "data" folder has nothing in it but another folder called "font" which has a bunch of TrueType fonts. EDIT: On the "Mounting HDD on PC" page on psdevwiki, the author writes to GameOS on the HDD...
