Here is a screenshot of the contents of dev_hdd1/PS3UPDATE, the only directory on that partition. The "data" folder has nothing in it but another folder called "font" which has a bunch of TrueType fonts. EDIT: On the "Mounting HDD on PC" page on psdevwiki, the author writes to GameOS on the HDD...
