Full BC PS3 for sure adds input lag even with HDMI. There's quite a night and day difference with the input lag between a real PS2 and a BC PS3. It's most likely caused by a triple buffering, so it buffers couple frames to the RAM before sending the frame out to display. One thing that supports...
Hi,
Is there any way to get UDPBD working on fully Backwards Compatible PS3? I've tried using XEBPLUS with neutrino. I am able to connect and sync the games from my PC to XEBPLUS in launchELF, but in XEBPLUS I can see the games, but when I try to start the game it just goes to infinite black...
I'm quite sure that in a real PS2 the black levels are better as I've used other 6th gen consoles with component and the black levels have been great, especially when PS2 was used as a DVD player back in the day. Unfortunately I don't have a real PS2, so I can't test that. Only thing that's...
I've tried with normal PC monitor, and you can't really see it there as the IPS backlight glow is stronger than the PS2_emu grayish background, so it doesn't bother me on monitor. The devices shouldn't interact in any way with Local dimming, cause it's done by TV as a whole. Local dimming...
Here's with netemu.
As you can see, there's no grayish 4:3 corners on netemu.
I have local dimming LCD TV, so the backlight should shut down in the places where the image is black, but in the case of PS2 games on PS2_emu, that never happens. With regular LCD TV you may not be able to see this.
I have a bit different issue with my frankie, that black is not fully black in PS2 mode, so I thought might as well post it also here if this has something to do with something being broken/damaged from Frankenstein mod or does everyone have this issue? PS3 games don't have this issue and HDMI...
Here's a better image of this issue.
Edit: But on netemu it looks like this, which it should look like:
As you can see, the background isn't fully black and you can see what fully black looks on my TV on the corners as the PS2's picture is 4:3.
I would like to know if everyone has this...
Funny thing is that I'm quite sure I have APS-226, but not 100% sure, as I didn't check the model. It's getting 230V from the wall, if that makes any difference for it to coil whine.
I undervolted my CELL using the Mullion Vcore VID table, and for some reason my SYSCON fan control went crazy. For some reason it keeps fans at 100%. Anyone have idea why that is?
EDIT: Before anyone asks, I didn't accidentally increase voltage that the temps would skyrocket. Using Webman fan...
I've got a frankie CECHA00 with 40nm RSX and I am thinking about trying this out with reducing voltages from both CELL and RSX. I was wondering, what is the RSX_VDDC in slims/super slims with 40nm RSX? If I understood correctly, the frankie voltage mod only reduces RSX RAM chips voltage (VDDR)...
Just tried taking a image from the issue what I mean. This image is from Vice City NTSC using Webman with PS2_emu and have tried NTSC-J and PAL versions and all look the same. I had to edit the image to make the difference more dramatic so you can see it from a photo. I'm running the game 4:3...
Wow, this is great for PS2_emu users! Thank you for your great work!
One thing that would be amazing for PS2_emu is that we would be able to use GSM resolution changing without using OPL or something like that, but don't know if it's possible to do with PS2_emu or would this have to be done...
I get this issue with any region game, not only PAL. And if you set TV and PS3 RGB range to limited, the issue doesn't go away. And I know what issue you're talking about, but it's wholly different thing. The blacks are really dark gray, so in most monitors/TVs you can't even see this issue but...
Just to update, best workaround for this is just to adjust black level from the TV a bit, then you're able to get perfect blacks in PS2 games. On my Sony TV I had to only adjust it from 50 to 48. That adjustment shouldn't make much black crush on PS3 games overall, so it's not a big problem to...
Hi,
I've found out that when playing PS2 games on my CECHA00 40nm Frankenstein that there's small issue with black levels, that in PS2 games i.e. boot animation and overscan corners you can see that it's little bit brighter than full black. It looks the same if I have full or limited HDMI range...
