PS3 Frankenstein PHAT PS3: CECHA with 40nm RSX

That shouldn't be possible. A firmware that low should give 1701 with a 40nm installed.

It's not as common but it does happen. I've found one out of the few hundred I've bought so far.

I would swap the Blu-ray drive anyways. It doesn't matter if it "seems" to be working properly. It's a quick and easy thing to try.

I must have missed the part where you mentioned this console turns on. It's probably not a fuse. You can swap tokens if you want, I doubt it will fix your issue. May want to try a different hard drive and bluray drive. Make sure replacement Blu-ray drive is properly married with root key. I...

1001 can be nothing more than improper shutdown . It's the 10x 2120 codes that im worried about. When I see those, it's usually a blown fuse (f6302) and the mlcc caps on top of board near rsx. Fuses are an easy thing to check. They'll also help you narrow down the issue. If you're lucky it's a...

Tell him to check fuses, especially F6302. If fuse is blown, check the mlcc caps in that surrounding area.

If you're not going to listen to anyone, why bother asking for advice? VDDR voltage is modified with bd3504 and changing resistors. VDDC voltage is what you're changing in syscon. If you think you reinvented the wheel, good luck, your retrofit will die prematurely.

You probably shouldn't be adjusting voltages and changing the syscon unless you know what those changes actually are doing to the system. Install a bd3504 and follow the Frankenstein tutorial there's a reason the voltage mod is covered there.

Ok I understand. Sorry for being abrasive. A little word as advice. 9/10 times, the issue with these 90nm models is the rsx. I wish you luck though. Changing the tokens isn't hard. Just attack the corners with something like an exacto knife. Carefully pry/cut them off the rails that's how I do...

GLOD is definitely rsx. Is your engineer friend going to swap tokens on that one too? Lol

That's not what the syscon error log is telling you. Why even bother dumping it if you're just going to do a random "fix" anyways. The only way tokens will fix that console is if you use heat at some point to remove/add them. Sometimes people use so much heat they end up temprarily fixing the rsx.

Why tokens? Thats clearly the rsx. 1701/1601/14ff are precursors to the 3034. How did you get tokens out of that errlog?

I hope you or your friend have a powerful bga station. You're going to need it. Good luck.
