Yes, I have an update loop. If i remember that correctly, i get stuck on BD check. Also, this drive surely works, I know it. Error occurs when motherboard is connected. That small board in the back of BD. If it's not connected, then ps3 loads normally. Due to old age of HDD i get some cracking...

Yeah, I bought spare bluray drive motherboard from eBay and it wasn't problem it seems. I still get the same YLOD. About ribbon cable, i tested all points with multimeter and they're all fine. Previous owner said, that PS3 "died" due to overheating. After that, he were getting YLOD's. Tho...
