PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

I'm slowly uploading modified firmwares with the "essential" frequency combinations (the most frequently used/requested). Here is the Evilnat 4.92 PEX OC collection : https://app.mediafire.com/84l86ew395lqm It's been said a million times, but use them at your own risk ! You're the only one...

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

I plan to progressively build a "collection" of 4.92 PEX OC firmwares in my spare time.

Nope, unfortunately, opening it is the only method. Dates aren't 100% reliable, even if it's true that you're more likely to find a champion by buying a Dec 2010/Jan 2011 model. If you want a great overclocker, look for a CXD5300CGB (good potential) or a CXD5300GGB (absolute champion). This...

Lowering the frequencies does affect the temperature. Additionally, consider this: lower frequencies might allow for further voltage reduction, leading to even greater temperature decreases ! This still needs to be tested on a FAT model... something I unfortunately don’t have. Otherwise, I would...

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

You give so much of yourself to help this community, so that’s perfectly understandable. I don’t know you personally, but I think you’re a genuinely nice person. That’s the impression I get from everything you do here, at least. Take care of yourself. And if that means stepping back from this...

Wow, I honestly thought such low frequencies were impossible to achieve, but here we are, with a PotatoStation 3 ! You’re absolutely crazy ! :')

Oh, okay, great ! So it’s probably just Drakengard 3 that doesn’t like it, then. I should’ve tested a few more games I guess, but it was late, and I didn’t have enough energy left to deal with more potential freezes :') Your PS3 right now : I can only imagine how much you could undervolt the...

100% sure that PS3 games won’t even launch, since they already don’t at 300/500. However, PS1 and PS2 games shouldn’t be affected.

You got me ! xD Glad it works ! But seriously, don’t try going lower without something to unbrick it. Unless you really hate your PS3 x)

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Hmm, do you have an e3flasher and know how to use it ? Otherwise, I wouldn’t try this, honestly. 250 on core might be good. But under... It’s just as, if not more, dangerous than running too high frequencies. At least when you brick a PS3 with an overclock that's too high, there’s a small...

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Yep, the 21** models are even tougher than the 25** ! And 650/850 is already an excellent OC ! About my YouTube channel, thanks for the kind words ! But no... I don’t plan on doing any new tests anytime soon. They take a lot of time (something I lack...), and honestly, I think I’ve already...

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

Indeed, many 21** models can’t handle 700/850. It’s possible for them, but far from guaranteed. My guess is that these early 40nm RSX revisions are leftover 65nm RSX chips Sony still had in stock. That’s probably also why the production window for the 21** series was so short. I think artifacts...

PS3 Project RSX Boost: Overclock your Retail PS3 RSX Speeds (ps3 cfw only)

There’s no universal optimal fan curve. Long story short: each user has a different environment with varying temperatures, etc. It also depends on the time of year. And more importantly, it varies between PS3 units, even among the same models. Now, there are two solutions: - WebmanMod. This is...
