    DESR-7500 Disc not spinning

The drive board is just a normal PSX2 drive board. Never heard of a "SF-DB28" laser. Can you post a picture of the laser from several angles, including the stickers at the bottom? About the lack of audio output: check the FFC connections between the main board and the video i/o board.

    PS2 PSX DESR needs hdd

The revision is embossed into the metal casting of the SF-DB11 on the top side. And I confirm that they are NOT compatible... swapping a T17 with a T07 between to IDE drives lead to the same symptoms for me (burning flex cables and a lot of magic smoke)... unless there are also several hardware...

    PS2 PSX DESR needs hdd

The DW-Q28A will NOT work; it has a different revision of the SF-DB11 and will either blow the 5V fuse on the PSX board or burn the laser flex cable. Only revisions T01 to T07 of the SF-DB11 are ok (don't know about T08, but T09 and later are definitely NOT ok, and all variants with an S before...

PS2 About the alleged PSX (PS2 DVR) overheating issue

There is this myth about the PSX having overheating issues floating around the internet. However, I highly doubt that's actually true. My DESR-7700 only measures around ~30 - 32 °C after playing through the first part (about 20-30 minutes) of Final Fantasy X when measured using PS2Temps shortly...

PS2 Fat PS2 Test Point Location Diagrams B-H Chassis V2-V9

I could confirm the test points of GH-003 to be identical to GH-001. For the sake of completeness, here's an annotated picture nonetheless.

PS2 PlayStation 2 MECHACON Adjustment Program (PMAP)

I figured out the UART test points on my PSX. The lens type is shown as unknown by PMAP, however, I have an EEPROM dump which might get analyzed further.

PS2 Fat PS2 Test Point Location Diagrams B-H Chassis V2-V9

Figured out the test points of XPD-005 (PSX DESR-x500 and DESR-x700 mainboard). They are probably identical on XPD-001 (PSX DESR-x00 and DESR-x100), since the section under the mechacon is pretty much identical, with only a few differences on how the ground plane is laid out. The usefulness of...

PS2 PlayStation 2 MECHACON Adjustment Program (PMAP)

I have also seen a white lens KHS-400C inside a DESR-7700 PSX that was still sealed, so they definitely have been produced like that by sony. Also, they are very late units, because at that time (mid 2005), sony already produced the slim PS2 and the DESR-*700 PSX was probably the last device to...

    PS2 Stargazer

Packing has been added in an extra branch https://github.com/Brawl345/stargazer/tree/feature/packing It's still experimental since not everything about properly packing files is known (e.g. the correct order of files, since metadata.xml and install.txt are always the last files in any archive)...

PS2 PlayStation 2 MECHACON Adjustment Program (PMAP)

I have a KHS-400C with a white lens protector. Would that be a T487 or a T609K lens, or do all 400C have the newer T609K lens assembly with no exceptions, regardless of color?

PS2 Fat PS2 Test Point Location Diagrams B-H Chassis V2-V9

These should be the relevant GH-001 ("v0", A-chassis) test points. Probably identical on GH-003, but NOT GH-008. Didn't test it though. Will do this later or tomorrow. EDIT: Tested and works. But in the case of my USB TTL adapter, it only works if the 3V3 of the adapter is not connected to the...

PS2 SCPH-10000 not braking disc before ejecting

I have a SCPH-10000 with a weird issue: It does not brake the spindle motor before ejecting. Even at maximum speed (that is: a PS2 CD/blue-disc game during startup), it immediately opens the tray with the disc still spinning inside of it, which sounds and looks horrible and scratches up the...
