i remember my 60g ps2 compatible did not want to have the ethernet 1gbit/s work only the 100mbit/s work lol i don't now if it is software or hardware

when you say ps2 hardware it means that you launch ps2 dvd? and if yes have you try to launch backup or iso of your dvd ?
