PS2 [Testers Needed] MX4SIO - WIP SD Compatibility Thread

That's a limitation of upstream OPL atm. USB is always loaded and prioritized over MX4SIO and afaik there's no settings to change this.

Update: As of 07/16/23 all of the changes have been merged upstream. It's advised to use the latest OPL beta going forward. For the time being there will be no new BDM builds.

You could try backing up your OPL config, deleting it, and seeing if it still freezes. Does it also freeze with other OPL builds? Also, 4.8 is not recommend due to several bugs, it's better to use 4.8.1.

Not too sure, I've never personally used it. Though I hear ZSO is somewhat CPU heavy which might pose a problem.

Format shouldn't matter too much. There's a compatibility chart out there somewhere that has a list of known working cards. I don't know how up to date it is or whether it has any cards that are 512GBs in size. Try running normal and verbose read tests in the new SD Card Debugger. Hopefully...

PS2 [Testers Needed] MX4SIO - WIP SD Compatibility Thread

UPDATE: There have been several reports of regressions with OPL BDM 4.8. Currently looking into the cause(s). UPDATE 2: Issues only appear to be present on PS2 models 70k and below. (non DECKARD) UPDATE 3: Fixed builds below: OPL BDM 4.8.1...

PS2 [Testers Needed] MX4SIO - WIP SD Compatibility Thread

Interesting... does this only happen when using / loading the MX4SIO driver? Have you tried setting BDM start to manual in OPL? Within the next week or so there will be a new build and while I hope some of the changes benefit compatibility, there's absolutely no guarantee it will help with...

PS2 [Testers Needed] MX4SIO - WIP SD Compatibility Thread

In Settings -> Block Devices, MX4SIO should be set to on. If you haven't already, try unplugging any USBs before launching OPL

I would double check the wiring of your DIY adapter as it doesn't appear you're getting anything from the card. Not sure, it was thrown together rather quickly and meant to be temporary until everything's officially merged. Which version of OPL are you using? See if you have any luck with...

It would only be worthwhile to run debug builds if you had cards that were still not working with any builds. I do appreciate the offer though.

Do you have any cards that don't work with CCV2 or any other builds?
