This is not my first delid, but the first one I’ve had go wrong in a very long time. I don’t see any visible damage to the substrate or die on the Cell or RSX. Is there another reason 3034 can occur after delid?
Making a request for PS1 Harry Potter Sorcerer's Stone and Phantom Menace. Phantom Menace got a re-release on the PS4/PS5, so it is interesting if there are any configs that can be created based on that. From the title config file:
# Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace (all regions)...
After testing 10 different COK001 and COK002 boards, I can say pretty much every A/B/C/E PS3 can run CELL and RSX voltage at 1.15V A few lucky boards were able to run 1.125V. None of the boards I had were reliable at 1.075V and all would freeze or blackscreen at startup below 1.075V. Default...
I created this thread so users can track the experiment of undervolting. Please list your Cell and RSX lithography, starting voltage, and final stable voltage. TLOU title menu should be enough stress to determine a stable voltage. I will go first:
CECHA01 November 2006 - 224 days run time
90nm...
I just received a B01 that was tagged as faulty. Warranty sticker gone, original tape inside gone. I thought for sure somebody had mangled it with a heatgun, but the factory white paste was still on there and super dry, like chalk. There was some dust around the fan shroud, but nothing serious...
Quite the development since I made this thread. Any tutorial on how to set the voltages? Any way to do it through CFW? This is likely critical to keeping the 90NM consoles alive without swapping RSX.
So I installed my PS1 classic version of Phantom Menace and proceeded to downgrade to 2.80. I launched the game and guess what, perfect audio. Something was broken with the introduction of cobra and/or other firmware changes after 2.80. My next test will be on 3.55
That is why I'm hoping others can test to see if mine is an isolated case or these are truly incompatible games. I have a hard time believing two games selected at random do not work.
1 - I have tested with internal 7200RPM HDD and external USB flash drive. Issue persists in both games
2 - I would assume disabling cobra and removing webman would remove this element entirely. It did not make a difference with or without fan control
3 - There are no plugins being loaded. It is...
I'm stumped trying to figure out what could be causing this issue. I am running overclocked 4.90 Evilnat, WEBMAN MOD 1.47.45, latest multiman. I have tried both ps1_netemu and ps1_emu. I have verified the checksums of my images compared to what is known online for both harry potter and the...
90NM by far the most unreliable, 65NM got better and 40nm is pretty much bulletproof. 28nm is nearly passively cooled and the most reliable but not pin compatible with COK001/002
It really shouldn't matter because the voltage/current draw is not being modified. This is an old school nvidia chip, before GPU boost that was introduced with maxwell. There is a max defined voltage for P0 clock state and it will not exceed that unless the vBIOS is modified. It comes down to...
