Yeah that's kinda why i said most likely to a larger storage, because this 512gb SSD i have here is kinda cramped and i would like to put a 1Tb in there instead, but if there's a way to clone everything and resizing the partition to take advantage of the extra space, then that would be great...

There's actually a difference in position for brackets, between the GameStar/Kaico/etc... and the official Sony adapter converted to SATA with the Bitfunx kit. Just a little difference, but enough so a bracket made for the GameStar adapter in mind won't quite fit with the converted official Sony...
