Ok and has there been any other affect to the RSX chip itself such as warping during the BGA rework or anything else visually that you can see that shows a negative effect because of the rework itself?
I would have liked to see some differences in resistance readings, everything else being good.
When the RSX chips were being tested post install during powering and testing, were we able to check for any heat signatures using a thermal camera at all? Were the chips over heating at all or off in...
Ok got ya, yeah that’s the answer I was looking for. Yeah that makes complete sense there are factors that can change when heating the board for example ESR of a capacitor however these are usually temporary in nature and will subside for example once heat is removed.
The faulty 40nm RSX’s, or...
Think you mis-understand my question, excluding the RSX Ω's readings did we take any readings from any other areas of the board (i.e the cell?) and did they change from before the frankenstien attempt?
Thanks and did any of the other Ω's readings (non RSX) change on the board after the install, so compared to readings before the install i.e. the cell Ω's readings?
Cool thanks for that letting me know so let the harvesting begin!
This question was directed for Pelko as I was attempting to help him out with diagnosing his Ω readings, as he had questioned it above. However what you have mentioned is interesting, so these RSX’s that measured fine before...
It’s ok there is a possibility it could be a bad RSX, I know it sounds trivial but just to double check on your multimeter are you putting black probe to ground point and red probe to each respective test point?
I came here after watching the YLOD YouTube video by RIP-Felix. Amazing work on that video dude. I must say after reading and catching up on this thread some amazing work for this discovery. Well done for all those involved. A bit more about me I’m here as a new adopter of the PlayStation 3...
