Nowadays you should use (or at least try) "v3 HAN Tools > *Extra Tools > IDPS/PSID/Minver Dump > Run This Tool Now"

The IDPS is per console, while the PSID is per user/console combination (more precise: the user is actually the account id). In my tests I could reproduce the same PSID. By the way VitaIdent is broken on the PSID display.

If I understood correctly you are going to format/initialize the PS3 disc drive, then there shouldn't be the necessity to delete files manually before.
