I mean the GGB is the best over clocking chip period. I got a bunch of them cause I know how to easily find them. Always Gaurenteed. They are the hardest to find though. But I always find them. Got a collection of them. 25xx slim are my all time favorite.

Man it’s sad this thread has slowed down to a crawl. Miss when it was super active and full of excitement and testing. I hope the Cell eventually gets like this in the future.

I was so excited until they hit me with the bad news. If anything was gonna get a huge boost, it was 25xx ps3 slims. They are the ones that can already do minimum 700/950 across the board. A high cpu clock would be a literal game changer. Hope they are hard at work with slims. Cause 90nm Cells...

Man what about 2501B Slim PS3s? They need it so bad! They overclock the highest with RSX.

I feel it will happen. But it is a hard thing to do. But if done, along with RSX OC, we would see huge % gains to fps averages and minimums. It would essentially fix 90% of games.

One of my ps3 slims can do 950/1000 without any voltage at all fully stable. I have a silicon winner. Pretty sure it can easily do 1000/1000 zero problems with a bit more voltage.

If 1000/1000 crashes then I guess there wasn’t much of a lift going from 40 to 28. But man if this requires soldering, it’s just meh.

Yup just saw the tweet. This is insane! Now we can OC on the fly easily. My god PS3 CFW is getting insane. Now I just need an on the fly voltage cpu undervolt to further cool RSX and CPU.

Overclocked or not, the ps3 will last a long time. By the time it dies, you’d have played every game you’d ever play on it. And got all the enjoyment from it.
