Best decision ever was upgrading to an SSD! Shame that the PS3 has only SATA speeds, but nevertheless, the difference in some games is truly night and day. GTA V loading times are cut in half and almost all the texture pop-ins are gone!
I'm just sad I didn't pay 20€ more for 1TB... I have only...
I was blown away by the performance increase from 600 to 700 core already. And then when we got the option to OC memory, every step was another 3-4% increase in FPS in games like GT6, Bioshock Infinite etc., truly amazing what these machines are capable of considering they're 15 years old :D
Agreed! That's why I have a 975 file on hand at all times already :'D
And yes, I was expecting maybe to have a warning of some sort after going up only 25 MHz but no... Just instant crash in VSH and next boot no image at all. It was a bit scary.
Then the recovery menu update failed 2 times and...
I don't know if you've noticed my older posts, it's been quite some time since we got the chance to go up to 1000 memory. I have done extensive testing, went through my whole game library(almost 100 games), even left Crysis HD running for over 24 hours once, never had any crashes or artifacting...
Hey guys!
Small update:
My perfectly stable 700/1000 Slim is unable to do 700/1025. 1st time booting up the VSH froze immediatelly, all next boot attempts I got only sound.
Thankfully, I was able to revert to 700/1000 via recovery menu, I can consider myself lucky and "smart" for going 1025...
Yes! 700/1000 is stable in all the games I tested. I even left Crysis on overnight one time, it was on for like 10+ hours and it was working perfectly in the morning :D
So I'm really hoping someone makes a few .PUPs like 1025, 1050 etc. and I hope I don't brick the bad boy :hopelessness:
Same was here. When trying 750 core there was really bad artifacting in Crysis and AC4:Black Flag. Very minor artifacts were present in almost all games tested. After reverting back to 700 core, artifacts were gone.
Artifacts were present even when I tried 750/750, so I know for sure the...
Same here! 750 core starts showing artifacts. Haven't had a single crash tho! I even tried 800 and it was pretty much the same.
Memory running 1000 MHz no problem. So right now I'm sticking to 700/1000 and maybe I'll test +1000 MHz on the memory when we get the chance :)
And yes, memory...
Hey guys!
Sorry, I've been away for a couple of days. Very nice to see quite some new faces testing and trying out new things, good job, that's why we're all here! :)
I have a slim and there's no way of running 750 core without artifacting. :')
1000 memory works like a charm tho, so I've settled for 700/1000
I'll send you the .PUP tomorrow
And even tho' your cooling kinda sucks, you're able to pull these high frequencies...that's insane! Lucky boy!! :'D
Even with 55°C, mine stops at 700 :(
