    So I have fixed it, using a AV cable because turns out, that was the only issue behind it (where the static was only showing because HDMI... stuff), but now my next issue is not being able to upgrade to a new cfw from system update with xmb, something about the data being corrupted.     PS3 I'm stuck at asking for a update version of 9.99 in safe mode(only Downgrader works but not to xmb)

    TL;DR: My PS3 is asking for a 9.99 version but I don't know how to go past the 9.99 Downgrader system update, so I am stuck. So my recent hard drive died when it was on my PS3, and so I can't recover any of the files in it. Which is why I got a new fresh hard drive which is formatted to NTFS...
