This is my file that mimics the pre-3.00 firmware loading icon on the latest firmware, it's still a work-in-progress, but it does work. However, there is one major caveat, the clock and "What's New board" have to go away entirely (though you can still access the clock from the impose menu). This was made off of 4.93 Evilnat CFW, but it should work on 4.92 as well as it's just RCOs, it should work on PS3 HEN in this case too. Make sure to enable dev_blind when installing this.

How does this work?
I replaced the large clock hand inside the system_plugin.rco with a frame from the droplet in 2.50 system_plugin.rco, I then sized it correctly inside the RCO for it to look right. Next thing I wanted to do was only get it to show if something was loading, I then realized that removing everything What's New and clock related from the xmb_plugin_normal and xmb_ingame.rco made it work like that.
