PS5 Anyone Played Astrobot?

it's a very fun game imo, with a lot of haptic feedback, but it shutdown my ps5 randomly, losing all saves after three levels. I've heard of others with this problem it's unplayable at this point imo. it doesn't save unless you go to the title screen. wtf sony!? so if that happens, you lose everything. that could be the worst bug you could have. I thought it was due to being on beta firmware or something, but apparently not. isn't that just shitty

Well, I did a superficial clean of my PS5 (just sucking up the dust from the fan and vents with the covers off). I don't think this is something to worry about, because it only seems to overheat with this one game. I had bought it via psn, and I was able to get a refund today. Sony doesn't seem to consider it a game issue either. I can just imagine how hot the pro is going to get with this game.

well, I got back on the horse. one of the patches that came out fixed it not saving unless you returned to the title screen. I don't know about crashes or if it's a bug if the game is on the m.2 ssd. mine does have a rather beefy heatsink, and the console wasn't real real hot when it shut off originally. I put the game on internal storage this time. I always play from the m.2, and this is the only game to shut off the console. it's only happened once, but I bought it physically in order to return it if I still have problems with the game.

Seems to be running fine now. I played about an hour, no crashes. I felt the console after shutting it off, and it wasn't even warm. I did put the game on internal storage. I also checked if it saved automatically after that patch. It did. I'm wondering if the problem originally was due to being on beta firmware. I'm no longer on that firmware, since 10.0 was officially released. I'm further than I was now too.

Graphically excellent playability of very varied levels the dual sense controller always at the top a little short I would have liked to have more but contender for the goty 2024 without problem a very nice exclusive from Sony.

I haven't played much, but I did get that parrot type thing in one of the first stages to find the other bots. so far, so good. I don't know if the infamous crashing is being caused by the game being on the m.2. that does seem to be a recurring theme here, but it was originally crashing, then no saved data was saved after each level, so you lost everything. total bull shit imo. it's a good game, but I've heard of this with astro's playroom as well. it can't be the fault of the user, it has to be fault of the developer. I mean the ps5 is supposed to display a message that the system is overheating, but with this, nothing. the system simply shuts off. it's worked fine for me, since I put it on internal storage, instead of the m.2, but that shouldn't have to be necessary unless there's something catastrophically wrong with the game coding, which appears to be the case. if you look up astrobot and overheating, you'll see several messages from people who've suffered from the same issue. it doesn't make the game enjoyable, but more worrisome while playing. "will it shut off in this stage or not?" I had the same reservations with the xbox 360 and its rrod, which obviously wasn't the user's fault either.
