PSP ARK-4 e/CFW for the PSP and PS Vita.

I'm pretty sure, yes. if you can, the best thing to do imo is to install infinity (if possible), then quadruple boot with lme, pro, ark, and ofw. ofw can be booted by holding down home when powering on. I do not know if it's a part of infinity or any cfw though. that's how I had mine. I always updated ark on ark or on ofw. ark now has a way to update itself from system update, so it's perfect. I sold my psp a few months ago, so I don't know if anything has changed, but it's very easy. if something corrupts, boot ofw with the home button and use chronoswitch to install full ofw. the psp stuff has gotten so easy that it should only take you a few moments to get back on cfw.

I would recommend using chronoswitch downgrader to reflash stock 6.61, then install ark with cIPL option instead of infinity. None of the other CFWs are still maintained so I don't see why anyone would continue to use them as ark is getting daily / weekly updates. They recently just integrated WPA2 from Moment into their CFW which is just amazing.

I would agree. I was thinking of that. just starting over with chrono switcher. I got a brick once from a failed install of something, but chrono switcher fixed it by letting me start over. I think it will allow 6.60 or 6.61, whichever you prefer. you can use the version.txt, possibly ark has a patch as well, to spoof to 6.61 if you choose 6.60. afaik, 6.61 was only to correct a few game bugs or something? anyway, as it stands now, there seems to be little risk with the psp with all of these failsafe apps. as I said, I no longer own a psp, so I don't know how things have changed recently. I was/am friends with acid snake (under a different name). I was one of his testers for ark for a short time. he's still in my list of friends on discord, just haven't spoken to him since I sold my psp.

There is a reason why this time I am using the full version number; it's a pretty big number that has a lot of history behind it.

I have been working on ARK-4 for the past 6 years and had the pleasure of working with some of the best minds in the PSP Scene.
It has been quite a ride, and like all rides it eventually comes to an end.

ARK-4 has become technologically complicated to work with, it uses an old sdk that is no longer maintained, it has a lot of legacy code that can be replaced by much better and simpler approaches and it has become over-scoped (the project has to do things it's not meant to, or that should be responsibilities of other projects).

This is the last official release of ARK-4, which is only here to serve as a bridge for what's going to replace it: ARK-5.

Because I did not stop working on ARK-4 because I stopped working on PSP CFW, but because I can best reserve my time and efforts on the next big evolution of this beloved CFW. Update to this last release to unlock the ARK-5 OTA updates, and then update to ARK-5 or not, it's your choice.
