PS2 How to correctly burn ps1 game to cd-r and load them on ps2 with FMCB memory card inserted?

I'm new to the whole process and want to know what order of actions best worked and if just loading a burned cd-r will work on a fmcb modded ps2.

I got the rom from Vimm's Lair and turned the bin cue files into a VCD. Should I burn that to the cd-r or the .bin .cue files?

Any help is appreciated!
