I was thinking of getting a ps5 I have msi mp234x monitor and I wanted to know if there is any way I can enable 120hz mode considering it only supports 1080p 100hz and hdmi 1.4

If the display only support 100hz then there is no way you can enable 120hz. not posible
That sucks most games any ways doesn't go that high and just reach 80-100 frames. I know that I can't see 120hz on a 100hz monitor I just want to see my 100hz even if the ps5 outputs 120hz

I got a new TV a few months ago. It's possible to get 144hz at 4k, I think, but I've never encountered a game that goes that high. Home on the PS5 will display in 4k, but it's only 60 hz. The Xbox home does 1080p in the menus but 120hz. You need higher end cables for 144hz at 4 or especially 8k, but that's like HDMI 2.3 or something. Point being you'd probably be hard pressed to find a game that goes that high. I think you could say it's a 4k 144hz system on paper only kinda like how Xbox touts 8k on the box.

And also you need a compatible tv fo 144hz. The xbox will not run in 144hz unless the tv supports it!!
