Rif Files Keep Reappearing

So I recently installed HEN on my PS3 and everything is working great. One thing that I messed up on however was when I used ReactPSN to activate the .rap files for the .pkg's, I was on my main account rather than a backup account (I've read in multiple places to not do this). So I went into the ftp folder where the rif files are stored (dev_hdd0/home/xxxxxxxx/exdata/) and deleted them one by one and then reactivated them on the backup account.

My issue is that every time I activate HEN in order to play the backups, the .rif files seem to regenerate in the exdata folder on my main account every time. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Not sure if it's an app doing this or if this is normal behavior.

In case it helps, I currently have the following installed:
  • HEN
  • HAN
  • Multiman
  • Webman
  • ReactPSN

Thanks

The rifs are being generated when you enable HEN using raps that are available in dev_hdd0/exdata/ (or on usb), if you don't want to generate rifs then do not have the raps available.

P.S. You can not install HEN and HAN at the same time really, they are different hacks. If you are using homebrew it means you are on HEN aka Homebrew ENabler.

You might mean you have HEN Toolbox and HAN Toolbox. That's ok to have those 2, just not much need for HAN Toolbox anymore.

Also you do not need ReactPSN on HEN. HEN has ReactPSN's rap to rif feature built in.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. It's my first time jailbreaking so I don't have much knowledge of how the jailbreak itself works. I guess because that most of this stuff was developed years ago so it can be hard to know what's current and obsolete (I had no idea that ReactPSN is built into HEN now).

Anyway, you were right about the USB - as soon as I removed it it stopped automatically copying the rif's into the exdata folder.

Thanks for your help!

Yeah it is tricky alright to know what methods are current and what is obsolete. I have that problem in other scenes all the time. Best thing to do is ask on a site like this if you are unsure.
