Hello there! My name is Volen, and I'm from Sofia, Bulgaria. I currently work as a software developer. In my free time, I enjoy fixing old electronics.
Recently, I bought an old PS3 CECH-3004B, and oh boy, what an adventure it has been. When I brought it home, I booted it up and tried a game for about five minutes before immediately disassembling it to clean out the dust and replace the thermal paste.
Unfortunately, when I reassembled it, it started smoking (and I still can't find the burned component
). That's when I went down the rabbit hole. I bought an RP2040 to get the Syscon dumps and started digging deeper into the issue.
This all happened about a month ago while the website was still under maintenance. Since I was impatient, I went to Facebook (specifically Cuban PS3 repair groups) and found quite a few posts related to my error code. Many people suggested removing an IC near the Wi-Fi chip, so I tried that as well, but unfortunately, the console is still not working.
I waited and waited for the site to come back, and now I'm finally here to lurk around and maybe create some posts to ask for guidance.
I'm really looking forward to fixing the console. Thanks in advance!
