I got the linux booting up but only from the USB drive so didn't get as far as trying to install. Getting it HDD running is a big part of it I think to overcome speed issues.
I'm about to have a go at adding the openBOR v3 build 6391 to the pal large from here and then running it via usb, it will be slower to load than a streamlined hdd install but if it works someone who knows how to chop about linux faster than me might take it up as a weekend project to removed...
I've got a sata hdd shoved in the back of my 3900x ps2. The dvd drive has completely failed to the point when I was cleaning it out I just didn't bother to put it back in.

So I was bored and found an old blackrhino linux distro that can run from an elf. I was wondering if I went at it to essentially gut it to nearly core components and then install just what was needed to run openBOR if what was left at the end would be powerful enough to make an almost openBOR...
