PS3 RE: Hacking the Singstar DLC encryption

Merge reply here: https://www.psx-place.com/threads/hacking-the-singstar-dlc-encryption-for-backup-custom-songs.28150/page-6 --- --- --- Hi, it's been a hot minute since my last post, and I've got some good news and maybe some not-as-good news. The good news is that I've now finally gotten...

PS3 Hacking the Singstar DLC encryption for backup/custom songs?

Not currently, though most of the games appear to be capable of reading the files extracted. For more info on that see here. Anyway, just as a general update - yesterday I got to work a bit more on the .PKG.DRM DLCs, and have successfully managed to extract one. When it's done, I intend it to...

PS3 Extracting Songs from PS2 SingStar Games to repackage as "DLC" for SingStar PS3 Idea

FYI, .MIB is only the raw ADPCM data (SCEE MultiStreamer format), you need the .MIH header for it as well, which I think should be in PACK_EE.PAK. Hearing from you that the audio and video is muxed together in some PS2 SingStars isn't too surprising either, since that's how all of the PS3...

PS3 Extracting Songs from PS2 SingStar Games to repackage as "DLC" for SingStar PS3 Idea

Fair, I was just looking at the paths where the game seemed to search for files in, and /dev_hdd1 was also one of them. And yeah, the original source files SCEE London had would've been located at /FileSystem/Export/12345/video.mp4 etc., but when they imported to their PACKAGE archive, the paths...

PS3 Extracting Songs from PS2 SingStar Games to repackage as "DLC" for SingStar PS3 Idea

Yep, I looked a bit into the .PKG.DRM DLC files as well, however not much progress on that front yet. However I've been told it's possible to make modifications to PS3 SingStar games by extracting the existing .PKD files and putting them into alternate locations where the game attempts to look...

PS3 Hacking the Singstar DLC encryption for backup/custom songs?

I don't think PS2 .PAK files are encrypted? They use SceeWhId/SceeWhPk/SceeWhPC archives anyway, which are a different format, and I believe other extractors already exist for it. Only exception is PAK_W.PAK found in later PS2 games, which is just the PS3 PACKAGE .PKD format, and is supported...

PS3 Hacking the Singstar DLC encryption for backup/custom songs?

Yep, I do plan on open sourcing it eventually. They used a somewhat custom/non-standard implementation of XTEA encryption. There's one more thing I also wanted to test but have been unable to currently, and that is the support for SingStore distributed DLC, and possibly recrypting them for use...

PS3 Hacking the Singstar DLC encryption for backup/custom songs?

Hi! Back in July I reversed the encryption algorithm used by SCEE London Studio PS3 games because I needed to for other research/projects, and later on I released it to the public (currently just on ResHax). It supports extracting all of their known PS3 PACKAGE variants...

    PS3 PS3 In-Game Menu

Just curious, will there be any further updates on this? I tested it with a few games, and I like this plugin, but it seems to be bugged with Split/Second, which was the primary reason I sought after a plugin like this, since it brings up the pause screen if I open the XMB. I can open the...
