    It happens because the retroarch leader developer wants an unique code working for every port, while here it needs something specific for ps3. And yes, we can use overlay-borders also on ps3, modifying the code on the main repo too.

    There're some cores not included in the extended version (4do, cap32, crocods, desmume, fuse, gpsp) since they gives black screen, but you never know, maybe it needs to be set correctly (see bios and other config settings), The only reason about fuse not working is imho related to big endian...

    Yeah, tbh I already knew (I heard) that 1.7.0 had definitively fixed the scan issues, so I wonder why it doesn't work on extended version. It could be cause of the fact that the frontend source code get daily updated, so a commit can break stuff and the next one can fix it, if you use the one...

    I guess it's a nice idea taking the issues on the frontend and comparing them to github issues, then open an issue on the main repo whether it hasn't already been opened.

    As @DEX357 said, puae core does not corrupt itself retroarch.cfg, only vice64 corrupts retroarch.cfg. Puae core doesn't freeze the ps3. I wrote it in a previous post because I loaded before puae then vice64. Great to see commodore 64 core running a rom though it's unstable, great video @DEX357...
