so is this officially abandonware? is no one else going to fork this and continue working? i still use this method and its a great piece of kit... just wish we could have someone continue with more advances.
i just updated to the most recent version to see if it fixed compatibilty for forbidden siren 2 in ntsc land, and i too am seeing this now, however i set my settings in OPL for:
bdm > auto> block device
hdd > auto
with this it boots to the empty bdm page, hangs for about a second, then...
still highly satisfied with this solution, i just wish there was a way to zip through the games list with artwork. art slows it down dramatically, but i'm assuming thats just an issue with the ps2 being a potato mostly. :crushed:
i've seen several mentions of long loading times, i too had the issue with an old drive i grabbed (read my experience on page 2 or 3). then i bought a brand new drive off of amazon, and it has been night and day. filled it up with 5tb of games, and it first-loaded in like 7 minutes, and at each...
ok. so i finally was able to get everything finalized on my 8tb drive. loaded the entire US set on it (which unzipped was right under 5tb) with no compromises on the list. converted the bin/cue images to iso. i tested 2 of those, both worked fine. played a couple dvd images. also played fine...
i had issue with winbin2iso, namely that i couldnt get the program to do anything other than launching, but reading online apparantly it only does one image at a time. so i found an alternate solution of using PowerISO and a .bat file. you will need to have a registered copy of poweriso, as the...
of course. i was just thinking if there is a compatibility issue somewhere, maybe just writing a new fmcb would fix it. worth a try anyway, and takes like 30 seconds to do.
have you made sure that you installed the new opl properly? i know nacho's video shows to just boot it from usb, but personally i felt more at ease by formatting my FMCB card and rebuilding it with the new opl. so when i boot my ps2 to fmcb the opl i open is the one on the memory card.
i'm going for also a monster list as well.so i have the full [redump] US set, and it shows zipped its at about 2.63 tb... do you think 8tb would be sufficient for the unzips? or will i need to whittle it down a bit to fit? some of the iso's have quite an astonishing compression rate of like 45%...
purchased a new seagate baracuda 8tb 5400rpm drive, and the config loaded much faster this time. perhaps the old drive i was using just had bad fragmentation.
that being said, the sabrent dock is still working fine with this drive as well. so i feel confident in recommending this dock for...
for what it is worth, i'm using a usb docking station, SABRENT USB 3.0 to SATA External Hard Drive Docking Station, i formatted a 1tb laptop drive i had just for testing and imported a single iso, and my ps2 was able to see and play the iso from the drive. so i guess not all sabrent docks force...
yes. that worked. guess i'll make a youtube tutorial video since the ones i kept finding had some pieces, but not all pieces, and also the most recent was like 4.86 using rebug.
thats what i'm not seeing in any tutorial is *how* to get write access. i don't see dev_blind or dev_rewrite, so what would i use to unlock those folders? do i need to run a dex or pex cfw?? because i'm just on cex.
