Ah okay. I think my settings are still mostly CEX based. I'll have to double check but I hadn't messed with any DEX kernel settings. I just used PEX instead of P-DEX when getting it setup.

I'm currently running PEX so for that one I'd assume it's based on whatever your running it as, or else just making sure it's a PEX version.

What I did was installing HFW first, without setting up HEN since HFW's more or less stock besides the webkit stuff, then going to PS3 Toolset and going from there. Not sure how much of a difference it makes, but if it needs the webkit vunerabilities then it's worth giving a shot.

Could also try PS3TrophyIsGood. That's a lot slower and more manual than Apollo but worst case scenario it should let you view the trophies for a potential effort later.

Go to the package manager in your games list, anything you get from there generally shows up as "Playstation Network content". If you mean you stopped it halfway, then if you got the space I'd just let it download and clear it after.
