    I had to sign in at least once on PSN to be able to download the softwares. Just adding the PSN account on brand new install gave me the 80710A06 error. After that i can download without being signed in.

    Backed up my Gentoo binaries via rsync and formatted to make sure everything would work fine. Total success going from 3.15 to 4.78.2 REX! Once again, thank you so much for the assistance and your good work!

    When my colleague updated, it just left the partition there until he formatted manually. But the part of the partition and what's still in the VFlash, like Petitboot, will most likely be overwritten or unusable when coming back to an OtherOS enabled FW. That's my guess.

    Wow, that was some fast reply! I am a perfectionist and i want to make it right the first time. Though it's not necessary for me to keep my actual Gentoo Linux as is. I'm currently in the process of backing it up as i ordered a brand new 1TB HDD, then i told myself, why not update for a CFW...

    Greetings. I am getting my PS3 Fat out from it's long sleep. First of all i want to thank the Rebug team. I didn't update my PS3 for so long as i am sometimes taking it out to try compiling Gentoo stuff on OtherOS, hence why i am getting Rebug. That aside, i want to know if it is "safe"...
