Sorry the capacitor values were good, not the voltages.

Can't measure the voltage on VDDIO, console doesn't run long enough. Checked all the original caps C4001 4005 4010 and the measurements seem fine. Can't find anything shorted.

Cooked the Syscon, then damaged a few other bits. So decided to practice removing the RSX on it.

Will keep the lid on when I remove the next one. TC? Thermocouple?

Top right corner the black part has lifted up a bit too and that ball of solder has come out. Do people usually heat with the RSX cover plate installed?

Managed to remove my first RSX Not sure if the heat damaged some of the parts on the left.

Good place to start is connecting to the Syscon so you can diagnose what error your PS3 has. Involves soldering a few cables to the motherboard then connecting to PC and running the Syscon software.

Just confirming the terminal directions on the Tants. The 470 Ohm are +ve i towards the centre. The 47 Ohm caps i have are also polar so the +ve should be towards the edge?

Yes it was, but from me touching it with the soldering iron not a blown cap. Will continue changing caps out.

Replaced it with a new Tant. Cleaned it up and covered in electrical tape. Still waiting on some kap tape to arrive. Still getting A0093004 though. Get ~2.7 Ohm between +/GND top and bottom. Where to from here?

Installed the first Tantaliser on the RSX side. No dice. New fault is A0093004 RSX Power Failure.

Still getting A0801002. ERR 00 - ERR 19. These also arrived today

Mine is a COK-002. That part looks the same. So what would I need to install? Another 470 either side of the current one or something different?

I have a 3rd console with: A0801002 - RSX VRAM POWER FAIL Would that indicate faulty NEC/Tokins on the RSX?

Plenty of soldering and electrical experience. None reballing, but willing to learn a new skill.
