So when i start it with no hdd it doesn't do the 3 beeps then flashing red light. Does this mean i need to procure a new HDD, or something else? it boots to a screen saying "cannot start. the appropriate system storage was not found."

Update: So it found the pup, and started installing it, and i walked away. when i came back screen was black. i switched cables and tvs, still black screen. on some advice i found on reddit i removed the hdd and re formatted it and reinstalled it and bam, picture is back but it didn't install...

it was mentioned in another thread that i posted a while back that it could be a problem with the BR drive. Does this make sense? and if it is the optical drive, is there an easy way to fix it?
