I have a cech2001A and i'm having some problems. I formatted the hdd, and put it back in. after wrestling with making an update usb drive correctly(i didn't have it as mbr at first), it finally started installing the ofw 4.88. I walked away assuming i was well on my way to getting this thing operating as i desired. when i came back a little later there was no video output. tried restarting it and it would start up, but with no video. After looking around the interwebs i found someone that had the same problem, and fixed it by reformatting the hdd, which also worked for me. I tried to install the ofw again but had an error. i found yet another person with similar problems, and they said that they had made a 30gb partition and rest unallocated, and that after that their ps3 reformatted the drive and installed the firmware. i on the other hand had catastrophic results where now my ps3 turns on with a green light, then about 4-5 seconds later it beeps 3 times and the light starts blinking red and shuts down. the light stays blinking until i press the power button again. after reading in another forum, someone said the same thing happened to them. when they switched to a diff hdd the problem resolved itself. i have tried 3 diff hdd's and i still have the same problem. light starts green, then blinking red and i can't get it to do anything else. any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.
