I suppose the solution of using Multiman BASE to back-up PS1/PS2 games will have to do for us then. It's not a particularly big deal, and it's nice knowing that's at least some kind of work around.
I imagine it would be helpful if anyone else with a CECH-A0X unit could confirm if this is happening to them too. At least in the case of me and No_One this has been related to those specific backwards compatible systems.
It's against the forum rules to discuss or link to piracy related websites, so you're not going to receive advice about that here. You can however back-up your own PS1/PS2/PS3 games with Multiman if that strikes your fancy.

If it stopped spinning the discs after you picked it apart you might have knocked something loose. It's probably worth opening it up and having another look, to make sure that everything is assembled correctly, and that the ribbon cables are tightly connected. It may sound silly, but that stuff...

I had this issue as well, although it didn't seem to help by switching to a different email provider. I just ended up trying a few times now and then until it eventually popped up in my Gmail inbox.
I think I had the exact same issue recently on my backwards compatible CECHA06 unit. It just refusing to back-up PS2 games in Multiman for whatever reason and spitting out the message that the "operation is not allowed". It does however play PS2/PS1 games straight from the disc perfectly fine...
