i was a captain of the high seas back in the day.
you need 2 things.
1: good blanks
we used to use Tao-Yuden (TY) disks - Philips used re-branded TY's
2: a burner that had a big buffer - to avoid glitches.
scsi was the way to go together with a Plextor or Yamaha burner.
and the burn-speed is...
somebody wrote a plugin/app a while back now that masked all the custom stuff without a password.
i dont know if that still works or what it was called.
will the update give the option to cross-flash between CEX and PEX ?
i'm not sure if thats a good thing or not - maybe set it with a flag or something?
probably the update was just a coincidence,
your time problem is caused by the clock battery needing to be replaced.
open the console and change the cr2032 coincell.
on the fat consoles it's in a holder - hopefully the slim is also in a holder and not soldered down.
cant you crease the sector size like people did on the xbox?
incidentally, whats the largest confirmed size for the internal drive now?
is it still 1 terrabyte?
originally in JB but i tried converting them to iso with no difference. :(
i delete all installed data and gamesaves between everything i test btw.
i have spent the week adding the updates to my iso's so i had to keep deleting the data to test it was being re-installed :D
