    PS3 PS3 BC CECH-A01 NoPS2 Issue

Below is a link to the schematics for the COK-001, COK-002 and the SEM 001 The components might work i will need to look at a SEM001 board to determine if the part numbers are the same, its not conclusive looking at the schematics, I cant see any part listed as.Q6600. In the pics I show these...

    PS3 PS3 BC CECH-A01 NoPS2 Issue

Thanks. I don’t currently have a single, consolidated thread dedicated solely to documenting the NoPS2 findings in one place. To be clear these findings are a result of the PS3 community coming together to suggest various solutions, its not all down to me. The earlier “NoPS2 – let’s solve this”...

    PS3 Frankenstein CECHB00 PS2 Backwards Compatibility

So i want to be clear, Rambonz2, told me about this component change, so its not my discovery. When I changed the components on camera, it worked and fell in line with my diagnosis (heating the area behind the EEGS to get a PS2 disc to boot). Because of his advice falling in line with how i...

    PS3 Frankenstein CECHB00 PS2 Backwards Compatibility

I originally heated the back of the EEGS because I believed it was BGA fatigue, not a power rail issue. I was then pointed in this direction by a frankie specialist that was able to resolve a recent NoPS2 issue by replacing these components. When I looked on the schematics and located them, I...

    PS3 Frankenstein CECHB00 PS2 Backwards Compatibility

If the console.runs better the warmer it gets, its definitely a possibility its the Mosfet and cap change i have mentioned (Q6600 and C6620)

    PS3 Frankenstein CECHB00 PS2 Backwards Compatibility

Which statistics are you referring to? Currently i have 4 consoles in my possession thst i have resolved this issue by swapping out the Q6600 and C6620. All of these consoles would go to black screen and refuse to boot PS2 games. Whilst the console was running I would move the Blu-ray drive and...

    PS3 Frankenstein CECHB00 PS2 Backwards Compatibility

Progress Update on the “No PS2” Issue: Q6600 and C662 Findings Over the past few months I’ve been investigating the long-standing “No PS2 playback” issue on early backwards-compatible PlayStation 3 consoles (CECHA / CECHB, COK-001). Historically this fault has been attributed mainly to BGA...

PS3 2103A – Dropped console, delid, reflow and other

Its a question i asked a lot and I learned a few things along the way. Firstly having hot.air.directly under the RSX as well as on top along with the pre-heater will give you a better chance of success. To make this affordable you simply can't buy it locally unless your from China. This means...

PS3 2103A – Dropped console, delid, reflow and other

Its more about technique, buying a full rework station will cost a lot and without the correct technique, you will fail. Watch this.....

PS3 2103A – Dropped console, delid, reflow and other

Look at Felix's setup. It works and its inexpensive, just make sure to ask him for his profile setup.

PS3 2103A – Dropped console, delid, reflow and other

Yep, I have encountered the same issue on a few of these consoles. Getting a reflow done will take some doing, I mean you will need to know your setup very well. Also melting the unleaded solder without causing delamination will require a full 24 hour slow bake at 100 degrees centigrade to...

PS3 PS3 is dying (most likely a RSX issue)

That looks like a RSX issue, either flip chip or BGA

    PS3 NoPS2 1701 1001 Syscon error codes

Ummm, 1701 followed by 1001. Could it be tokins on the CPU side? Otherwise it's looking like a NoPS2 issue. I think Ace had this issue after he swapped out the chip that controls the power to the EEGS chip.
