Great. Thanks for the advice. I see on the CFW page for 4.84 https://www.psx-place.com/threads/4-84-cfw-homebrew-plugins-tools.22528/ that there are many versions. If I need it as an intermediate cfw do I need the noBD version or I do I install the standard 4.84.1 REBUG REX (+ COBRA v8.01)first?

Greetings folks. A couple of years ago I acquired a ps3 fat with a broken blue ray. It boots and runs so I checked the firmware; it is 3.01. At that time (2022) the Psx Place forums said something about needing 3.55 to install custom firmware and that CFW could then be installed direct from XMB...
