Now the user can choose between manual or automatic installation

Automatic = the usual install method, will load opentuna needed by the console.

Now the installer will cleanup the target memory card on it's own

more specifically:
it will delete the following folders:
  • OPENTUNA (to void issues)
  • FORTUNA (to void issues)
  • BOOT (ensure clean installation)
  • APPS (ensure clean installation)
  • BXEXEC-OPENTUNA (ensure clean installation)
  • BXEXEC-FUNTUNA (to void issues)

  • Installer will read your console ROM version to calculate Opentuna variant needed by your PS2
  • If installer can't find OPL/conf_opl.cfg on target memory card It will write icons and config files to the OPL folder
  • Manual install package was reorganized

BXEXEC-OPENTUNA folder will contain a file called icon.cnf
This file will contain a small text string identifying wich consoles are compatible with that Opentuna icon:

"190+" = compatible with SCPH-5XXXX with ROM 1.90 and every Slim (PS2TV included)

"170 " = compatible with SCPH-5XXXX with ROM 1.70

"110+" = compatible with every FAT from SCPH-18000 to SCPH-39XXX

If the console running the installer is incompatible with Opentuna (SCPH-10000 and SCPH-15000) the installer will skip Opentuna related files...

Advanced notes for people helping on troubleshooting with noobs:
If the icon.cnf file ends (light blue triangle on uLaunchELF editor) on the seccond line, then that icon comes from a PSU file from manual install package, if end of file is on 1St line it means the icon was written by the installer...

previously CFG.ELF had two options:
  • Return to FunTuna (mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF or system update)
  • PS2 Browser

now it has:
  • Return to FunTuna (mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF or system update)
  • Return to uLaunchELF (mc?:/BOOT/ULE.ELF)
  • PowerOff (mc?:/BOOT/POWEROFF.ELF)
  • PS2 Browser
update wLaunchELF with a stable variant of my mod
before: 4.43a_ISR (rev1)
now: 4.43x_ISR (rev1)

minor changes to CFG.ELF and BOOT.ELF
Updated ULE_psu.ELF
Before: uLaunchELF 4.37
Now: wLaunchELF 4.43a_ISR rev1
(i've tested if it can decompress PSU files respecting timestamps, it works flawlessly)

Memory card anihilator 2.0:
re-included Mca2.0 at this package
youll find it in the extras folder

Mca2.0 backup image:
included a backup image along with Mca (it's the BIN file)
this image has the same contents that the Basic package + preconfigured OPL folder (default configs + conf_apps.cfg with the apps from
BOOT folder)
a tutorial to install funtuna with this Mca image will be uploaded Soon (focused to
newbies)

package name:
as you can see, now the zip file will have a 7 digits alphanumeric code in the filename, it's the github commit code, and youll need to provide that code when reporting a Bug/Issue/etc...

for example: the commit code for this release is b2c0b90

  • replaced unused "loading" logo with black rectangle increasing PS2Packer compression ratio less that 1% (quite insignificant but since the logo was disabled it wont hurt)

  • downgrade USB drivers to the one's included at oficial funtuna
the previous USB drivers came from @jolek unofficial funtuna package.
they work! but CFG.ELF freezes when browsing mass:/ to link apps
