4k display

A friend of mine has had his HDMI port repaired recently. Since getting it back, he cannot get the PS5 to display 4k with a message in settings saying something along the lines of "cant display rgb due to 2.0 limitation" Does anyone have any idea what could be the issue... Wasn't sure if it was...
